Audits · Issues · Records

Keep what matters. Lose the noise.

A quiet workspace for your organization’s audits, issues, files, and records. Walk a site, note what you find, and keep the result exactly as it was recorded.

An audit in progress in Balebase: checklist items answered pass, fail, or N/A, and a high-priority issue assigned to a teammate with two photos.

Product

One place for the work and the paperwork.

Audits sit at the center. Around them are the people, files, and records your organization keeps, each scoped to that organization.

Audits and checklists

Build checklist templates for your organization and start audits from them. Record pass, fail, N/A, or a written response for each item. Templates are versioned and each audit snapshots its template, so later edits never rewrite history.

Issues

Raise an issue in the middle of an audit with a priority, a description, an assignee from your organization, and up to ten photos. Reassign it later as the work moves.

People and roles

Invite members as owners, admins, or members. Groups grant capabilities such as Finance, and owners can require two-factor authentication for any member.

Sign-in security

Two-factor authentication with an authenticator app and recovery codes. Keep several accounts signed in on one browser and switch between them quickly.

Library and inbox

Upload files to your organization’s library. Each organization also gets its own inbound email address for forwarding documents and attachments, with trash and restore.

Businesses

Keep a record for each business you run: legal name, EIN, DUNS number, incorporation date, and address.

Finance

Members of a Finance group can connect bank accounts through Plaid, import up to 24 months of transactions, sort each one into your own expense categories, and see spending totals by category.

How it works

Walk the site. Keep the record.

  1. 01

    Pick a checklist

Start from one of your organization’s templates, or customize a global starting point into your own form. Every organization has two to begin with.

  2. 02

    Walk the site

Record pass, fail, N/A, or a written response for each item. When something needs attention, raise an issue on the spot with photos and an assignee.

  3. 03

    Close the loop

Reassign issues as the work moves. The audit keeps a snapshot of the template it started from, so the record stays exactly as it was taken.

Two global starting points

  • An electrical-safety readiness checklist based on broad NFPA 70E themes.
  • A U.S. residential construction baseline with 253 controls for detached one- and two-family homes and townhouses.

Global checklists are starting points, not official checklists, certifications, or code-compliance determinations. Review them against the requirements that apply to your work.

Principles

Software should feel like a well-made room.

Useful things close at hand, nothing shouting for attention, and enough space to think.

  1. 01

    Quiet by default

No feeds, streaks, or manufactured urgency. The workspace stays out of the way until there is work to do.

  2. 02

    Built to endure

Templates are versioned and every audit keeps its own snapshot, so later edits never rewrite a finished record.

  3. 03

    Private by design

Each organization’s data is isolated from every other. A deleted organization stays recoverable for 30 days before it is permanently purged.
